PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY

WFRW elected Rosemary Schunk of Big Horn to the office of President for 2008-2009. Rosemary previously served in Vice Presidents' offices since 2003, has attended four WFRW conventions and three NRFW conventions. A member of the Sheridan County Republican Women since 1995, she served as President from 2000-2003, and on the Hostess Committee for the 2005 WFRW Biennial Convention. She has served ten years as a Precinct committeewoman and was elected Chairman of the County Party for 2004-2006.

Rosemary is a Wyoming native from a Republican pioneer ranching family of Campbell County. A UW grad, she taught six years in public school, and ten years in private school, including teaching her own children. She served ten years as secretary-treasurer of her county Farm Bureau Federation and is a past president of county Cattlewomen. She and her husband Edward raise Registered Angus cattle on an irrigated ranch near Big Horn. They have three adult children and five grandchildren. They enjoy family reunion time and horseback riding in the Big Horn Mountains.

FEDERATION PROFILE

The Wyoming Federation has 12 clubs throughout the state. Clubs hold informational meetings, host candidate forums, financially support Republican women candidates, hold leadership conferences and promote voter registration. Members donate books to libraries, sponsor delegates to Girls State and staff educational booths at state fairs. 

The Wyoming Federation takes pride in the fact that since statehood in 1890, Wyoming women have had the right to vote (the first in the nation) and have served on juries. From our courthouses to the U.S. House of Representatives, Wyoming Republican women are serving responsibly in elective office. Not to be overlooked, Vice President Dick Cheney is a proud product of Wyoming.
