PRESIDENT'S BIOGRAPHY

June B. Jackson was born in London, England, to a politically-active family, both in the UK and in the United States.

June has been active in Republican politics for many years. Prior to her election as president of Michigan RWF, she served as recording secretary, 4th vice president and membership chair of the organization. She is president of Emmet County RW and secretary of Emmet County Republicans. In addition, she founded the Northern Michigan RW, which has since split into four county clubs (including Emmet County RW).

A former business owner, June has served as a member of the Harbor Springs Chamber Board, chairman of the Emmet County FIA Board, president of Emmet Ambulance, and manager of the Emmet-Charlevoix Fair for 12 years. She was active in BPW and Kiwanis, and is a life member of Crooked Tree Art Center and the Christ Child Society. She started the Northern Michigan Council, a seven-county organization.

June is married to Richard, a retired GM executive. Together, they have six sons, all of whom are either engineers or in public service. She enjoys golf and traveling to visit family.

FEDERATION PROFILE

The Michigan Federation is a charter state of the NFRW. Wayne County RWC, the oldest in the state, was formed in 1919 by some of the original suffragettes in the Detroit area. Old records indicate that Marion Martin, founder of the NFRW, used the Michigan Federation's organization pattern in forming the NFRW.
