Lisa Roper was elected NFRW member-at-large at the 34th Biennial Convention in Palm Springs and assumed the position in January 2008.
She has held several NFRW positions, including serving on the
2001 Host Committee as Decorations Chair for the NFRW Convention in
San Antonio. Her decorating skills were spotlighted as a member of
the 2003 Hospitality Committee for the then president-elect Dianne
Thompson at the NFRW Convention in Salt Lake City. She was a member
of the 2004-2006 NFRW Public Relations Committee and was
instrumental in raising $82,000 at the 2007 NFRW Fashion Show during
her term as the NFRW Fundraising Committee Vice-Chairman. She has
been a NFRW Capitol Regent since 2001.
Roper has served in several capacities at the state level and is a
TFRW Patron. She was the 2001-2003 TFRW Hospitality Chairman. In
2004, she recruited 20 volunteers and raised $60,000 for the Miami
Bush/Cheney Headquarters on the “Texas Mighty Strike Force” team.
Her campaign work has been recognized at the national, state and
local levels. One of her most significant contributions was
conducting the 2003 “Salute to our Soldiers” in Comal County, Texas,
which drew a record attendance.
Roper has held several officer positions in the Canyon Lake
Republican Women and is an Associate Member of several Republican
Women’s clubs. Her other activities include fundraising for the
Brooke Army Medical Center and the Fisher House for wounded soldiers
in San Antonio. She has served on the National Board of St. Jude
Children’s Shelter where she helped raise $200,000 in two years She
has a rare ability to raise funds for non-profit organizations such
as the McKenna Children’s Museum and the Tye Preston Memorial
Library, among many other worthy causes.
