Jane Lane was elected NFRW 2nd vice president at the 34th Biennial Convention in Palm Springs and assumed the position in January 2008. She also has held the positions of 3rd vice president, treasurer, chair and vice chair of the Campaign Committee, and vice chair of the Legislative Committee.
More than 20 years ago, Lane became involved with the Federation when she joined Cheshire RW. She went on to serve as president of New Hampshire FRW and has held a position on the NFRW Board of Directors since 1990. In addition, she has served as a delegate to every NFRW convention since 1987. In 1994, she represented the NFRW at a political training seminar in Moscow.
Lane has served as secretary of the Cheshire County Republican
Committee for 16 years. She served three terms as Cheshire County
Commissioner and was a state senate nominee in 1992. From 1983-1992,
she was appointed by Gov. John Sununu to the New Hampshire
Commission on the Status of Women, serving the last six years as
chair. In 1993, Gov. Judd Gregg appointed her to a three-year term
on the New Hampshire Judicial Council.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Lane taught
junior high and high school mathematics for six years. Since 1975,
she has worked for the law firm Lane & Bentley, P.C. She worked
as a constituent services representative for Congressman Charles F.
Bass from 1995-2007. She is active in several community organizations
and serves many in a leadership capacity.
